What this website is
This website explains roofing work: what the signs usually mean, what a specialist checks, and what happens next. When you send an enquiry we pass it to one specialist firm covering your area, who contacts you about it. We do not carry out inspections or work ourselves, and we are not that firm. What we provide is the explanation and the introduction; the inspection and any work are the specialist's.
Using this website
The website is free to use and is there to be read. You may read it, print pages and save them for your own use. The words, pictures, design and code of the website belong to us or to the people who license them to us. You may not copy them for publication elsewhere, frame the website, scrape it, or use it in a way that damages it, interferes with anyone else's use of it, or breaks the law.
Information, not advice
What is written here describes roofing work in general terms. It is not a survey, a report or advice about a particular property, and nothing on this website tells you what is wrong with your building: that takes an inspection by someone who has seen it. Sending an enquiry costs you nothing and does not create a contract between you and us, and you are not committing yourself to anything by sending one. We pass your enquiry to one specialist covering your area, who may contact you about it. We choose that specialist with care, but any inspection, quotation or work is agreed separately between you and them, in writing, and their terms govern that work. We are not a party to what you agree with them. We may be paid by the specialist for passing enquiries to them. That does not change what you pay, and you are free to take your enquiry elsewhere at any point. Our privacy notice explains what we do with the details you send.
The specialist's work
The specialist is responsible for their own inspection, advice, quotation and work, and for any guarantee they give. We do not guarantee their work and we are not responsible for it. If something goes wrong with their work, raise it with them first under their terms. We would also like to know, because it affects whether we pass enquiries to them again.
Accuracy and availability
We try to keep the website accurate and available, and we correct it when we find something wrong. We do not promise that it is free of errors, that it is complete, or that it will always be available; we may change or remove any part of it at any time.
Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from relying on the website, from being unable to use it, or from an inspection or work that a specialist carries out after an enquiry. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
